BOOKING

The Strange performs in different configurations from concert style with piano and vocals for more intimate venues and jazz clubs, as well as as featuring additional players including strings, horns, and percussion for festivals and larger theater stages.

Over their decade together, Erik Nordin and Brent Mckay, aka The Strange, have shared the stage with a diverse group of performers, including George Clinton and Medeski, Martin and Wood.   They have featured musicians in their performances including Trey Anastasio and jazz legend Marcus Belgrave.   Voices of the Carousel has been described as the groups most complex art piece created to date.   It features operatic vocals, bebop trumpet and a more symphonic approach to their writing, with the piano serving as the heart of it all.  Adding classically trained vocalist Christina Swanson allows the band to open their wings even further.

The music is purely strange at its best.
